The tracking ability of the 4MD-10X is greater due to its use of a Shibata stylus which was developed by JVC for its CD-4 system - this stylus is a new shape.
Because of it's superior tracking and its lightweight armature this cartridge's response is extended into the super high range and it's frequency characteristic is extended to an unparalleled level.
Because the compliance of the 4MD-10X is greater the stylus pressure has been reduced without affecting the tracking stability, ensuring a longer life for your records as well as the stylus when used for 2-channel as well as 4-channel playing.
The headshell is a lightweight and rigid non-resonant shell formed by impact pressing. It was found to be most suitable for 4-channel cartridges.
