This is the original 1957 pressing on Prestige - though previously released (the same year) privately on Moondog's own label in micro quantities with a silkscreen cover and different album title ("Snaketime Series"). Some wear to top left corner and a light musty odour (nothing distracting). Record is VG+ and plays very nicely. Blind genius, Louis Thomas Hardin, aka, "Moondog" busked for years as the "Viking of 6th Avenue", before being discovered and landing a record deal with Prestige. Hardin worked predominately in counterpoint. His various musical lines often combined elements of exotica, jazz, medieval music, and sounds he recorded from the streets. This is perhaps Moondog's finest LP and one of the more fascinating recordings ever released on Prestige. Highest recommendations!
