The Thorens TD-125 Mk II (produced 1972–1975) is a classic 3-speed, belt-drive turntable featuring a suspended sub-chassis and a 16-pole synchronous motor. Renowned for its heavy build and excellent isolation, it often comes fitted with premium tonearms like this Syrinx LE1. It is highly regarded by vintage audio enthusiasts for its stellar sonic performance.

The Syrinx LE1 Leone was the entry level tonearm from Syrinx Precision Instruments of Edinburgh.

Developed from the Datum tonearm that Syrinx produced for Logic, the LE1 featured several design changes to improve performance.

The arm featured a rotatable arm-tube for setting cartridge azimuth and a thread and lever type bias adjustment.

Review

The Syrinx LE 1 had a distinctive sound, almost a crispness in the midband which was not severe enough to warrant the term colouration. It's hallmark was an above average level of clarity coupled with good stereo focus 

 

The Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 is a highly popular, budget-friendly high-output moving coil (MC) phono cartridge. Because it outputs 2.5mV, it is highly convenient as it can be plugged directly into a standard Moving Magnet (MM) phono input.

tbe Dustcover has light scratches, hinges are excellent, the arm is in excellent condition, Blue Point sounds great.
