108-CD deluxe, limited edition box set from Decca (with one title -- CD 108! -- licensed from Sony Music Entertainment), featuring the complete recorded legacy of Sir Georg Solti and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (as well as various guest musicians on selected CD's!), all previously issued separately, but brought together here for the first time as a complete set, featuring jacket replicas of the original LP/CD covers, in addition to a complete digital remastering of all contents. The packaging features an outer box with a cover illustration of the conductor by Yann Legandre, as well as a hype sticker on the shrink wrap detailing the inner contents, which include four smaller boxes which serve to both subdivide and house the CD slipcases; a 180-page hardback book with liner notes and/or retrospectives by Sir Georg Solti and Valerie Solti, Yvonne Minton, Humphrey Burton, Frank Villella, and Martha Gilmer, along with photos by Yousuf Karsh, in addition to many previously unpublished photographs from the archives of both Decca and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, facsimiles (within the hardback book!) of some of the conductor's scores represented in the box, and full recording and technical information (the vast majority of which has been painstakingly transcribed for the Tracklisting and Credits sections!) for the included works. (There are additional non-standard credit roles listed in the hardback book, as well as a long list of "Special Thanks" which, in the interest of not taking up any more additional space than necessary within an already long submission, will not be included here!)
