According to Gary, in his autobiography '(R)evolution', the 20,000 picture discs were the first issue of the single in the UK. The black vinyl pressings were actually issued after the initial run of the picture disc had sold out. Gary attributes the decision to initially issue the single as a "collectable" picture disc as being instrumental in garnering attention for the song and its ultimate commercial success. The U.S. release of this single differs only in the card insert. Track durations do not appear on the release. The solitary 'E' etching on the A-side appears disjointed, and resembles an underlined 'F'.
